Yoga & Back Pain
Ohm.... ![]() Yoga's origins can be traced to northern India over 5,000 years ago. The word yoga was first mentioned in ancient sacred texts called the Rig Veda (Google, 2022). It helps you achieve peacefulness and physical strength of the mind and body. Yoga helps with anxiety, depression, the nervous system, obesity, the immune system, and the skeletal system.
I've been a yogi for well over 10+ years. I started as a means to help strengthen my core, back muscles, and as a form of relaxation. When my Scoliosis started to progress after years of stillness, I also looked towards mediation, which is what aided me through the pain of my spinal fusion. Unfortunately, after my spinal fusion, I lost a lot of flexibility since I am fused from T2-L2 (majority of my back). So, the extreme bending yoga positions were out the window for me. However, I still do the more simple yoga positions that don't require bending of the spine. Below are some products that I use to this day or prior to my spinal fusion. Of course, please remember to speak to your healthcare provider first. Yoga Wheel Set (11-in-1)
Florensi Meditation Cushion (16"x16"x5")
Yoga Mat
Yoga Blanket

Namaste "I honor the place in you in which the entire universe dwells. I honor the place in you which is of love, of truth, of light, and of peace. When you are in that place of you and I am in that place of me, We Are One."
